Rully is one of the best-selling white wines from Burgundy and the main reason for this is its exceptional price/pleasure relationship and special terroir where the Chardonnay grape in particular feels very much at home.
It combines all the qualities that make white Burgundy so popular. Intense Chardonnay expression, floral aromas in combination with lots of fruit, velvety in the mouth, nice acidity, structure and balance in a long aftertaste.
Claudie Jobard, who was born with the wine, her mother is a celebrated oenologist and papa one of the best inns in the region, has revived the parental domain of 8 hectares.
She makes Rullys with great precision on calcareous slopes such as the Montagne de la Folie. 2012 is her best vintage to date and provides instant drinking pleasure.
Since 2011, she has also been making some red wines from grapes from very old vineyards belonging to her mother's family. Especially the Pommard 2012, 1er Cru Charmots from 100 year old vines, which is rich, concentrated and very eight for this appellation is highly recommended.
